ZiuZ Launches Aviator: An Innovative Solution for Processing CSAM Reports / NCMEC Reports
ZiuZ is excited to announce the launch of Aviator, an advanced product that emerged from a European project where various organizations collaborated to develop an efficient and intelligent solution for processing NCMEC reports and CSAM (Child Sexual Abuse Material) notifications.
NCMEC reports are notifications submitted to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) in the United States. These reports contain information about suspected cases of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) discovered by technology companies, the public, or other sources. NCMEC receives millions of reports annually through their CyberTipline, a platform established in 1998 to report potential cases of child exploitation. Technology companies are legally required to report apparent cases of CSAM on their systems to the CyberTipline. These reports are then forwarded to the relevant law enforcement agencies for further investigation and action.
The volume of material is enormous, necessitating advanced technology for law enforcement and forensic investigation teams to work quickly and efficiently. Through a project-based approach, an innovative solution was developed: AviaTor (Augmented Visual Intelligence and Targeted Online Research). By combining visual intelligence to prioritize reports with online sources for additional information, AviaTor reduces the time law enforcement agencies spend processing CSAM/NCMEC reports. This makes the processing not only faster but also more efficient and complete.
Project ended, Ziuz continues
The European project is now concluded, but ZiuZ ensures the continuity of Aviator. ZiuZ will take over the product and continue to maintain and improve it. Additionally, ZiuZ will work to raise awareness of this solution among organizations that could benefit from its use, ensuring it has maximum impact worldwide.
As ZiuZ no longer receives funding from the European Commission for this product, Aviator will not be available free of charge. A reasonable fee will be requested for the maintenance and further development of the solution. The aim is to keep it as accessible as possible for maximum use and positive impact.
Organizations worldwide that were not involved in the European project can now purchase Aviator.
